American Idol - Ricky Braddy Dance

I thought it was kinda fun. Remember Ricky Braddy? He tried out for Idol this season but didn't make it past the first round...but that doesn't mean that America didn't love him---in fact, "His goofy dance moves - featured in about five seconds of the rolling credits - inspired dozens of YouTubers to upload footage of themselves mirroring the same moves." Anyway, this is some of his (and fans) best work! Check it out!

Oh my heck!!!!!! American Idol gets crazy!

I simply cannot believe the American Idol season! It has become very apparent that many of the contestants are NOT selected based on the fact that they are the best singers - but are voted through based on appearance, or controversy, or that they are "characters" and make for entertaining television.

There are 4 or 5 I just shake my head at - I feel really bad for those whose talent is much better but are considered "normal" and therefore sent home while some who are simply very obnoxious and overly dramatic are put through.

But... that's the name of the game and it is effective - getting people to discuss events on the show, have emotional connection (whether it's support or disgust), and gets people yelling at the TV.

I think American generally gets it right once we have a vote. But it's sad to see some go home who truly should get through.

My first prediction - now seeing briefly the top 36 - I predict the Church Music Teacher who lost his wife will be easily in the top 3 and most likely win the season. He's likable, has a unique and soulful sound, knows who he is, cares about others, does not seem cocky, sings incredibly, and I think people will connect emotionally with him.

Exclusive Kelly Clarkson Interview

Just letting you know about an exclusive interview that PopEater has with Kelly Clarkson! It's actually really interesting --- she even denies those rumors about Katy Perry being a major influence to her. Anyway, here's the link:

American Idol Back Again!

Wahoo!!!

So I've been too busy to blog about the show yet this season, but I'm excited to see what talent comes out of this season's American Idol. I have come to like the new judge Kara - it's nice to hear her opinions and that she can hold her own against Simon. I do have to say that I think the audition process this year was not as mean as it has been in the past. But I do wonder still about some of the contestants. Really? Are you really going to go dressed in a bunny suit? And do you really think the judges will take you seriously and let you through -- or is the intent just to get seen on TV? I sort of think it must be the latter -- just a chance to stand out and get on TV.

I do feel bad for people who are obviously tone-deaf and still their family and friends encourage them and let them go to the audition. Just plain sad. So... now that part is over, I'm hoping the ones who made it to Hollywood can not allow the stress and anxiety get the best of them, and can truly showcase their talents.
